I have been working as an actress since 1985. Music was always important for me. Consolation. Running away/ escaping from adult life. This was the point int he theatre, too. We were looking for the authentic language which could address the audience. We were collecting. Songs of many different far away folk cultures, folk music (eskimo, pigmy). With these melodies have we confronted and reinterpreted the Hungarian texts. At the end of the 90’s I started to collect from myself melody fragments (with a recorder) They have not shaped as a ’whole’- I have never thought they would -, but after a while so many have been built up, that I had to do something. That’s how I got to EKEZ in 1996. And this led to Erik Sumo Band (which was founded in 2005) and to Panchan. I have worked in many films and theatre productions since.
