I specially remember the Sundays, when I was small, when chinese or vietnamese traditional music came out of the loudspeakers, filling the air with sounds that sounded both familiar and strange to me. Somehow I was more connected with the english singing bands they played, such as Beatles, Bee Gees or my mom‘s Adamo or Jacques Brel. One day my parents caught me using a children‘s plastic tennis racket as a guitar and singing songs. So they took me to guitar lessons. I could‘nt have imagined back then that the lessons with Georg Schmitz (who is also director of the „International Guitar Festival“ in Koblenz) would go on for such a long time - twice a week or more the „long“ walk with my „heavy“ guitar to music school and back home.
