Siggi Schwarz
Musiker - Rock
http://www.siggi-schwarz.de

Born 28.02.1958 and inspired by people like Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix and his performance at the famous Woostock Festival or later Jeff Beck and Gary Moore – just to name a few – Siggi started to play the guitar at the age of 12. Only three years later he formed his first band, and a lot more were to follow. “Bluespilz” was the band which got the first record contract, and that was as soon as in 1979. The year 1981 saw another change coming: “Split” was a Funk-Rock-band which was joined by Danny O’Steen and the drummer Peter Bochtler, the band was joined a little later by Kraan-guitarist Peter Wolbrandt. One of the major milestones in Siggi’s career was undoubtedly the foundation of the mainstream rock band “V.I.P”, which won the Marlboro Prize out of 1236 bands in 1987, which included a record contract with Marlboro Music and BMG, recordings at Peter Maffey’s Red Rooster Studios and various TV appearances on the major German TV-stations. The readers of the local newspapers acknowledged Siggi Schwarz’s accomplishments by electing him the most popular local artist in 1988. In the following years his new Blues-Rock trio opened for various famous artist like Luther Allison, Steve Lukather, Mike Landau, Robben Ford and John Mayall, and in 1996 Woodstock caught up with him for the first time when Leslie West asked him to join his band “Mountain” for a performance. During that time Siggi had a Blues-Rock project going in his hometown, together with his good old friend Willy Geyer, called the “Geyer-Schwarz-Project”. This two-man-band - which was enlarged in 2001 by drummer Didi T. and keyboarder Romi Schickle - produced quite a few CD’s over the years, and they performed successfully at various occasions. A new band was again founded in 2003: the "Siggi-Schwarz Band”, together with Martin Hesener (bass, vocals, acoustic guitar) and Bernd Elsenhans (drums, acoustic bass). Together with this band, often supported by friends and special guests like Frank Diez( Peter Maffay Band...) or Alex Conti ( Atlantis, Lake...), he played on really big locations, opened for SANTANA and was touring with a friend and Special Guest MICHAEL SCHENKER -The Live Together 2004 Album was released in December 2006.
